It's funny because I stopped playing before 7 July 2016 and moved on. I'm glad I got to enjoy the game before matchmaking destroyed community servers, Sniper bots destroyed official servers, too many maps, cosmetics spam, “contracts” etc. cluttered the game and custom sprays got disabled.

The 13th anniversary of the worst update was last month. You got the years and the date wrong.

The Uber Update and Mannconomy may have been pretty bad, especially when you consider the long-term damage they did, but at the very least it didn't kill the ability to just join a match on whatever map you wanted and play a normal game. Casual matchmaking did, from day one it was bugged and filled with cheaters.

The worst update is Blue Moon. It's so bad that everyone pretends it doesn't exist, that's why people always call Jungle Inferno the last major update.

Casual literally added the ability to do that, before Casual you could not join a match on whatever map you wanted and play a normal game.

Casual is just an objectively better system, and the only time I remember it having issues is when it first released. If I recall, queue times were absurdly long, but they fixed that pretty quickly.

Yeah the queue times were too long for like a day then it got fixed. That was the only issue anyone had with casual before like 2020 when youtubers ran out of content ideas so they just ♥♥♥♥ on a random update for no reason
