Ok Valve, you fixed the bots. Now fix your broken matchmaking.

Matchmaking was supposed to eliminate autobalance and the need for team scrambles. Now it's in desperate need of both these things. I'm not sure which is worse, bots or pubstompers. I am getting sick and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of my team being rolled all because the enemy team has one or two guys with 10k hours absolutely destroying everyone else.

I know what you're thinking: "git gud". Mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥, I am 31 years old. I am not gitting gud anymore. Those days are over. All I want to do is sit down for about an hour and play what feels like an evenly matched, fair game. Matchmaking is supposed to have everyone be at roughly the same skill level.

Your team is getting rolled because instead of kicking the Demoknight or 3 friendlies you kicked the topscoring player who tried to kick the idlers. Your team is getting rolled because the enemy is using more OP BS than you are, OP BS that you cry "skill issue" about whenever someone suggests that it get reworked or nerfed.

You guys reap what you sow. You do everything you can to make the game an imbalanced piece of garbage, so now the game is an imbalanced piece of garbage. If you want fun and fair games go play a different one.

Oh really? OP BS? You mean like the exploit that allows players to rocketjump or stickyjump everywhere around the map? Or the exploit that allows Spy facestabs? Or perhaps you mean the entirety of the Sniper class? All of these things have been in place since launch, for 17 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years, but I don't see you arguing for their nerfing, because "ohhhh the skill ceiling, ohhhh muh boomer shooter movement mechanics, ohhhh it's what makes the game so great and so memorable".

i hate to be that guy, but one of my friends sent me this and it made me lol pretty hard. I am the person that OP is referring to, i am the reason why he wrote this. The entire pub, i did not say anything negative to him besides making jokes about sonic, and i spent the entirety of the pub micspamming morshu and other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ things for my team, with the loch n load & sticky jumper. I did not take the game seriously at all and I did nothing that would "break" or "exploit" the game... I was not spawn camping, I was not talking smack, I was not doing anything BM, hell I was not even taunting. This guy was insulting me in chat the entire game and telling me to kill myself irl, saying directly that "YOU are what ruined tf2, not the bots" and that "pubstompers are worse than the bots, holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥", among other things.

I will play devil's advocate here... I don't like the matchmaking either. I also agree that if there is an experience that a first time player should have with this game, it shouldn't involve being obliterated by someone that has been playing the game for a majority of their life. People that 6 stack in pubs and try EXTREMELY hard and abuse broken loadouts to spawncamp people and intentionally ruin games ARE annoying, and they DO ruin the game experience for most people, especially new players. I can absolutely agree with OP on that front. I wish quickplay were re-introduced, or at the very least, the ability to switch teams willy nilly and help out the losing team (it would give me more people to fight, anyway) just like the old days.

I just want it to be known that I am not someone that brings entire comp teams into pubs to steamroll people and pretend that I'm super awesome and own everyone. I want to join pubs to mess around with my friends, the overwhelming majority of which don't play the game competitively, or barely play it at all. When I do pub, as infrequently as i do nowadays, I do so with shrek hud or sigma wolf hud and I micspam and goof off and don't take the game seriously at all. I don't like valve matchmaking either, but please do not lump me in with dudes that drag their entire newcomer 6s team into pubs to "own" people. That isn't me.

If it wasn't intended by the developers, then it's an exploit. Soldier's rocketjump was never intended to be chained the way players do, that is a glitch in the engine itself. Spy's hitboxes were not intended to be literally broken, as proven by the community multiple times. The only reason the devs never patched either of these things out was because they saw how much fun people were having.

As one of those people with 10k hours in the game, I can safely tell you that most of us are well past the point of trying and are just having fun doing whatever stupid ♥♥♥♥ we decide to do in that moment. While I understand that it's no fun getting your ass kicked in a videogame, but I'd rather take that than playing Man Vs Machine any day.
