Why do I keep getting put on Frankfurt servers in MvM?

I'm in the southeast US, I usually get put on Virginia servers but lately I've been getting queued only for Frankfurt

This new tf2 patch is crazy, i picked soldier and I got blackbagged and sent into the united states military on the frontlines for 3 years before recieving an honorable discharge due to medical circumstances (compound fracture due to planking accident at the base)

mvm matchmaking is ass. nothing you can really do about it other than requeueing

opposite, i keep getting put in virginia servers with 100 ping instead of frankfurt like usual

in the top left of the menu around the party options you can edit matchmaking settings including regions
