Team Fortress 2

We should fix TF2 ourselves
Let's build a legal case against the bot hosters. Activision won a 14.5 million dollar lawsuit against a COD cheat maker, so there IS legal precedent against it. Valve isn't going to do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for this, let's be real here, so why sit around waiting for them to do something when we can just do it ourselves?

So you want people to take over the responsibility of a corporation and spend their own money? If anyone is suing anyone it should be Valve who needs to spend the money, it's their product and their responsibility. No offense but this is a really dumb idea and I really hope this was bait.

Look all I'm saying is that if Valve won't take direct action, why can't we? Why wait for the big company to do it when we can take direct action against them?
Do you actually know how any of this works? How do you expect to handle the fact that Omegatronic (supposedly) doesn't even live in the US? How do you intend to get the courts to take you seriously when you are suing someone on behalf of a company you don't represent and who hasn't given you any support?

Well that's the thing, we DON'T know what ground we have to stand on with a case because no one is actually DOING anything. I'm open to a civil discussion to discuss other options, I'm merely proposing a POTENTIAL avenue, but I feel we need to be doing SOMETHING rather than sitting on our backsides pretending Valve has any reason to listen to our petitions. I do appreciate you pointing out the flaws in my plan, I welcome it in fact, as it starts the discourse of what we can and can't do in this situation.

You are treating this idea as if it doesn't come with expenses. Plus it's just unrealistic to begin with.

I have a job and frankly too much free time on our hands. I'm just sick of seeing everyone complain about #fixTF2 not DOING anything when nobody's actually... well, DOING anything.

Well then I appreciate you pointing the flaw out in my plan, genuinely. I merely presented it as a potential avenue of action as a point of discussion; we NEED to actually be discussing what to do instead of hoping the problem goes away if we talk about it enough.

Because I'm not the only one pissed off by the situation. WE'RE the ones being dragged down by this mess here. Valve owns a machine that literally ♥♥♥♥♥ out money by the hour; TF2 could vanish off the face of the earth and it wouldn't even chip a decimal place off their earnings. WE'RE the people being impacted by this, and WE'RE the people who actually give a damn about the situation. Collectively we can take direct action ourselves against the cheaters rather than make a wish upon a star that Valve will do it sometime before the heat death of the universe.

Merely a workaround to the problem, when we could be taking action to solve it once and for all.

I clicked this expecting OP to suggest just making a community server and of course its some wacky off the wall stuff instead of something reasonable

anything to avoid clicking the "community" tab, right?
