Team Fortress 2

windows defender sees a trojan after the last update, possible reason for crash.
windows defender found trojan at this directory: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\bin\vrad.exe
virustotal scan revealed that 12/70 antiviruses (Skyhigh (SWG),Panda, McAfee, Fortinet, Cylance, Antiy-AVL, Bkav Pro, DeepInstinct, MaxSecure, Microsoft, Rising, TrendMicro-HouseCall) identify the file as a trojan.
recommend not playing the game untill all the dust settles. also creating a support ticket

could be that your local instance is compromised?
i dont think valve would have the aduacity to push trojans from their own development team... let alone the fact that they dont really have any motivation for it.
also i had frieds report having their game compromised by viruses before, literarly hl2.exe had a trojan in it, soo its not unheard of getting your local instance infected.
my av doesnt have this problem, yet im also a defender cheapskate.

i am trying to find this out rn. I think that valve just incorrectly configured the file. I once have written a small script to help me with some things at work, and it was identified as a trojand by defender. i have deleted the file in question, will now run a bumch of malware tests and examine background processes in process hacker. will update the initial post after doing said tests

i run everything i could, there are no malware I can detect within my own means. I deleted the file in question, did some user things, restarted pc, did offline defender check and found nothing. File appeared after i verified the integrity of tf2. this file seems to be the reason of crash reports since it is quarantined automatically by windows, and game doesn't work without it
