Your ♥♥♥♥♥♥, man. I've been looking into it with some other people to find out why, and while there is evidence to suggest a mac update WAS in the works, its been scrapped; HL2_OSX is gone, and so is Macbook support. Sorry, man. If you want a good place to start, try using an emulator or buying a new computer.

when i saw mac mentioned in the title, i knew it was already game over. Valve has dropped mac support officially.

x64 port killed OSX version as I predicted
I recommend you to install any user friendly Linux system alongside OSX

i think you can use wine and run the windows version, that's what people do to play cs2 after they killed mac support

Is there a way to properly install it? I asked someone who suggested it because it looked complicated for me, and they just told me "google it" :/

Okay, I have successfully installed wine (validated by downloading Notepad++ to my Mac), how may I get the new files for the tf2?

You will need to dualboot with GNU/Linux or Windows in order to play TF2. There is no MacOS version anymore.

Theoretically, you'd run Steam under wine (this is how people used to play Windows games on GNU/Linux before proton existed), however TF2 still won't work. You will run into issues with VAC even if you manage to launch TF2 and will be unable to connect to secure servers.

Your best option is to dualboot macOS with GNU/Linux or Windows. You can fairly easily make a bootable Fedora Workstation USB using Fedora Media Writer, than install it alongside macOS.
