Same here. Shadercompile.exe and vrad.exe infected with win32:malwarex-gen according to avast.

Yeah i am getting it flagged as well 2 files, was spooked but hopefully it is a bug and Valve will fix in a hour or a day maybe.

Yeah, same.

Would highly advise people don't bypass it as its flagged as malware.

Just wait out for an official response.

The antivirus likes to automatically mark new software as malicious when in reality, it isn't. Just give it like a few more weeks or months then the anti virus will mark the application as a non threat.

So delete it? Should we even boot the game up?

bitdefender, why?

Windows defender is going off. It's a false positive, it's up Microsoft, as well as other anti virus vendors to catch these new x64 files and mark them as safe.

What seems to be flagging is vrad.exe and shaderscompile.exe.

I highly doubt that Valve will add malicious files.

An uninstall shouldn't be necessary as the anti-virus is blocking the two files that need to be installed in order to boot up the game anyway.

Give it a day or week, this is likely a number one issue for bug fixes if it actually is Malware.
