"in the style of tf2" doesn't mean anything

it's a catchphrase used by tf2'bers in order to build hate against anything they don't like under the guise that it's "constructive criticism" when in reality they're picking favorite just because "oh this one has too much color" or "oh this one is too insignificant" or "this looks like a Disney movie" Imagine being in your 20's-30's making money off of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about how cosmetics look while you're the one making those cosmetics and not getting paid ♥♥♥♥.

Some people actually deserve recognition for their hard work, not "it's not in the style of tf2 so I hate you"

Imagine getting heated over 20-30 year olds making 10 minute youtube videos on a 17 year old game.

And Tf2 originally did have a very distinct style that Valve put an incredible amount of effort into, which has been watered down over the years both in cosmetics and map designs.. I agree that a lot of it is overblown and most just complain for the sake of complaining, but you can just not watch the vids if you hate them so much.
