Is it better to use scroll wheel or buttons to switch weapons?
I normally use scroll wheel, but it feels like i should be using buttons, because that's the norm.

The Q key if you use two specific weapons, whatever you prefer otherwise.

Whichever is Faster and Easier for you to use, im more of a buttons guy but its all up to personal preference.

If youre unsure try playing a couple of rounds with both of them and choose which one youre more comfortable

I use buttons for simplicity, occasionally I’ll use q, but often I forget which weapon it switches to when playing demoman or spy, so I keep to buttons, 1, 2, 3 etc.
Buttons for accuracy. Often times with scroll wheel I end up scrolling to the wrong item/weapon.

i sometimes use wheel and sometimes use buttons, but wheel does the same job as buttons if you activate quick select

Scroll wheel for me. Left hand for movement, right for weapons. Changing weapon with the left compromises movement. Changing with the +attack finger is ideal; finger is idle during weapon switch, regardless whether it's tactically advantageous or simply out of ammo.
Scroll wheel, although it is too fast and I don't like cycling through PDAs, so I just bind it to primary & secondary

personally I use the scroll wheel to switch and use a button on the side of my mouse to quick swap to my previous one

Bind melee to Q or E. Bind your primary and secondary to your mouses forward and backward button.

Buttons are generally more reliable for weapon swapping, at least for the mouse I have, which has extra buttons I can map to use various keys on my keyboard. No risk of possibly rotating the mouse wheel too much or too little, and missing what you want to equip.

If you have Mouse Wheel Up and Down assigned to individual weapon slots though, that's probably still alright too. I've used it in BattleBit, but never tried it in TF2 though.

buttons are more accurate and better and more recommended
