It's coming. A new 6v6 hero-based 3rd person mashup of shooter and moba and tower defense. Apparently it uses new ip instead of drawing off the half life/portal universe, so anyone hoping for TF2 references in game may be sorely disappointed.

Also it seems true that Valve has dropped VR support.

Reading about this news is like watching your neighbor bring home a new puppy after leaving their old dog chained up in the back yard with no doghouse.

I'd much rather they port L4D2 and TF2 to source 2, but okay. Who knows, it may be fun, but I'm not exactly looking forward to it. That's if it even releases.

Well I've been following Deadlock's development since it was called Neon Prime, surprisingly though, Valve has done a good job keeping it under wraps. It SOUNDS fun, dunno how many people would actually play it considering it sounds like the inbetween of every Valve game. A competitive 6 v 6 with characters that are similar to the TF2 mercenaries, all in a Medieval-Steampunk setting.

Won't kill TF2 though, I think people have grown to attached to this game.

That's a weird attitude to have, Nostradamus. After all, Valve has Steam to back it up. Quite literally the biggest PC gaming platform. Other than that, it could become anything, as we don't really know anything yet.

That's fair. It's a shame that it flopped. It's a great game which had a horrible monetization scheme. Still a bit early to call this game's demise though, I feel.

deadlock sounds so cursed a title when you come from a game franchise easily plagued by stalemates. even if i had wished for hero shooter slop from valve, i would have got a bad feeling about it.
