Oh, thats bots putting CP links on chat. (can we call the fricking police alredy?)
So apparently, bot hosters are doubling down in just how many shady stuff they can get away with (yknow the usual: Ddos, swatting, harassment, impersonating, etc...) apparently now they are letting bots put links to literal CP on chat, and at fisrt, i thought "theres no way they are that sick on the head, thats a fricking line that even them should know that they should not cross, right?"

Booted up the game a few minutes ago, first thing i see in match is one of those bots. What the actual ♥♥♥♥ man.

Like, this is not just cheaters being nuisances, this is straight up criminal activity, and i think we should call the authorities before they double down even more on how much they can get away with, because apparently, they are convinced they can get away with this crap. The fact this is even happening is beyond me, how tf is this allowed.

So, thing is, while we wait for Valve to do anything (wich in the likely case they dont, thats literally worse for them like, i would SAY SOMETHING at the very least if my game had an issue of this grade) can we get actual police involved in this?

Like, i dont know how law works outside of my country, but CAN WE get authorities to look this up? Like, if bot hosters can fricking swat people we defenetly can call them out on THIS, right?

Seriously, valve being involved or not, this is NOT right. This should not be happening. How the ♥♥♥♥ we solve this?

Here you go, why people don't report it.

Any proofs? Like screen of ingame chat, you can blur the link, of course. But I would like to know if you followed a random link to darknet or a clearnet, hard to know which one is worse.
clearnet is worse

So you've seen these links and didn't take any action?

I've sent a cyber tip to the FBI and implore others to do the same. https://tips.fbi.gov/home
Regardless of anything to do with TF2 or Valve stuff like this is serious and should be reported.
This helps a lot, thank you
can this thing cause closing official casual servers?

no

If it is true that you're seeing this, provide actual evidence to Valve or the FBI. Don't post it here. Because Valve are responsible for their own game and they are liable if it becomes a platform/distribution network for child porn.

Also, this topic should bumped every hour to the top so it gets immediate attention. It crosses a line from "hur hur, people raging about the bots!" to actual incriminating territory.

Is it real though? I feel that bot hosters would be too cowardly to full send CP. It wouldn't be the first time they incriminate themselves. If the respective agencies cared, they'd be screwed.
How many people do you know who share their cp archives with everyone they can?

The answer is zero, hopefully…
Nobody with a brain would share their collection online because everyone knows that child abuse is very heavily monitored by several big federal agencies. Even bots aren’t completely anonymous, and these agencies often collaborate on an international scale to prosecute such individuals.

I’m not saying it can’t be a troll, as I’ve seen someone share it once on a really old forum board I used to frequent, but it’s super unlikely given the circumstances and the method the bots are using to distribute it.
someone hasn't ever been on Discord

if this is real i can see the servers being ordered to shut down if this is actually happening and valve wont stop it
Kik Messenger has this problem for real and has weathered multiple lawsuits over it just fine

Yeah, and the only way one is confirming that is by looking at it. Spamming links and advertising it as such is enough for reasonable doubt. Purposefully looking further at it would be considered illegal.
If you’re reporting it to interpol/fbi you might as well ensure that what you’re sending them is legitimate and not a troll link.

The severity of the punishment you would likely incur upon viewing it to ensure it’s legit would be very weak, as prosecution depends on a number of factors regarding your involvement in the possession and distribution of said material. Especially if you only did so to report the abuse; I think that would be a very strong mitigating factor, especially if you don’t have a history.

You can report it without opening it though. go ahead. but I believe it could very well be a troll. And given the tf2 community’s history with overblowing such cases (remember when accusations came about of bots distributing cheese pizza through sprays lol), it could just as likely be another troll banking on people not opening up the links and just taking their word. Wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened.

That’s kind of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up nature of such a topic though. you can never really be sure unless someone decides to be the sacrificial lamb.
You can also send anonymous reports so that you don't get slammed for reporting it
