Well, can you answer the question?
And to their digression, I did edit the post to phrase it as a question
And you know this because.... Are you a bot hoster?
To OP Such a golem has been theorized by redditors for years and it's always put down because the bot hosters/coders can and will reverse engineer it to circumvent it. We could end up with a chimera that's even worse. Sometimes it is better to deal with the enemy you know than to create a new enemy. You could, and honestly usually are, going to make a far more powerful enemy.
Example: take out Putin to stabilize Ukraane only for a more hardline, militant Putin 2.0 to come into power and really heat things up.
Good point
or maybe it has been and it failed, also the whole "fighting fire with fire will cause the fire to grow and make the problem worse" or somethin
They know it because it was a regular feature in the opensource software that was used and is used by 99% of hosters. It does not take a bot hoster to spend 30 seconds on github.
And your entire theory about Redditors considering it and deciding hosters would just reverse engineer the code proves how dumb people on Reddit are. LoL. XD FFS the code was opensourced for ages...lol reverse engineered....haha.
Creating bots that target bots has been done plenty of times over the years by several people and its always failed and overall been a dumb idea.
Think about it for longer than 3 seconds and figure out one single benefit that could come from having bots that target bots. Just one positive thing. There really isnt any.
Essentially by doing that you are just creating more bots, that take away player slots.
Its ineffective because it does nothing. Who cares if a bot gets killed by an anti-bot? Nobody. Certainly not the bot hosters. Like....how is one of their many bots dying and needing a few seconds to respawn going to affect anything?
