The main focus of the movement is to deal with the bot crisis, not getting the heavy update

bots wont go away, you cant add a working anticheat to a spaghetti game
I agree, they are now focusing on a new game. They won't even bother to touch TF2.

true but again.

We ain't got much to lose if they do that again.
That's the only reason I'm even joining this movement.
If they ignore us, oh well.
If they listen, that'll be amazing.

Literally this

Good that the only counter argument im seeing for the movement so far is "is not going to work" cause alright, if it doesnt work, tf is gonna happen? Am i going to get mudered or something? Worst thing that gonna happen to me is being made fun of by a bunch of randoms on the internet over literally nothing even worth being made fun of
yes, its literally impossible because valve employees can choose what they work on, and if you put yourself in the shoes of a gamedev working at valve, tf2 is literally the last thing you want to touch because its worthless on your work resume and also the most frustrating thing you can try to work on

You try telling that to people who're going through such bad withdrawals that they're starting to make robot waifus with fishnet stockings. This community is beyond hope and I pray that TF2 does get pulled one day.

Exactly, Now I understand people have their doubts because of what happened last time, but I'm not just gonna sit here doing nothin about it when its not getting any better, cause doing nothing doesn't help anybody except the bot hosters. At least trying to get Valve's attention and perhaps getting them to actually fix the problem would be great. If it doesn't work then lets just keep protesting, peacefully of course.
I find it funny how the only argument for not supporting FixTF2 is that it didn't work in the past. SaveTF2 was too nebulous in its goals, whereas FixTF2 has one goal: get rid of the bots. The two are not the same, and should not be treated as such. And to anybody who says this is impossible, just look at CS:GO - basically no bots. Cheating? Undoubtedly, but not that much botting. The only reason there is a botting crisis is because Valve is unwilling to implement actual solutions, which they are more than able to do. Not protesting does nothing, and guaratees nothing will come of FixTF2. If we are ignored, or promised things that don't come to pass, then we can just protest again. If something does actually happen, then all the better. As for Valve not wanting to touch TF2, they don't, but they obviously outsourced the Summer Update to a small group of people. Most people who are against FixTF2 are, in my opinion, either looking for a reason to be a doomer/pessimistic or just dislike youtubers in general, and therefore refuse to support something supported by youtubers because their little echo chamber told them not to. And I am not just talking about the people in this thread. I have seen other threads where people genuinely believe that FixTF2 is TFTubers "trying to stay relevant", which is utterly bizzare to me. That is a new level of self-rightous delusion.

TL:DR stop being a passive doomer who is afraid to actually do something to fix the game they proclaim to love and contribute to a goal that has the potential to help the community at no risk of personal consequences.

if the heavy update dropped tomorrow they will take credit for it and say “oh we did this”

This has no real bearing on deciding to support the protest or not. Yes, they, whoever "they" are, may take credit for a major update coming out, but so what? That doesn't invalidate trying to get the botting crisis resolved. Seems to me you are grasping at straws to justify not supporting the protest.

Did I ever say “solve the bot crisis?” In my comment?
