How do I inspect the profile of a player who's in my server?
Sometimes, I'd like to browse the profile of players I play with or against in games like CSGO or Dota 2. But TF2 does not let me do that. Or is ther?

no, you CAN look at their backpack on trade servers though, by using !pc and then the persons name

I'm talking about any server.
Shift+tab and press view players.

I've noticed this too. Like all cases I have, the view players only shows like 0-6 players of 1-over 30 players on a server, (excluding me).
I only know 2 ways to do this.
One is to remember the guy's profile pic, take his exact precise name, and just scroll through the players until you find him.

The second way is purely for adding as a friend, and make sure he know that you simply want to add him. In the trade window, click on his profile image, and it will take you to his profile page. From there, find and click the Add Friend button.
Although too be honest, there should not be this much trouble to find someone on the server. The view players on current server option should be working, but it never works properly for me, and I assume for other players too.

Unfortunately, the players menu is very bad at displaying the majority of the players you've played with recently.

At least if I remember it properly, if you open it up, go back to doing whatever for a little bit, and then go open it up again it should be refreshed with everyone there, but my memory's a little fuzzy considering how little I use it.

First, make sure that you have enabled mouse intput on socreboard (it's in advanced options). Then go to scoreboard → locate the player → right click on him → View Profile.
Enable mouse on scoreboard option from the advanced settings. Right click on people to find their profiles.

Hmm, I just enabled it on a server and it doesn't seem to be working correctly for me, maybe exit out of server and re-join? Valve really needs to make it easier to do this lol.

Go to advanced options and acgivate mouse input on scoreboard. Then you can click on people's name and do several things, such as go to their profiles. Its rather buggy, though.

More than a minor necro but here's some helpful info:
Go into the dev console and use the command "status" to check the list of currently connected players. Next to their name should be their SteamID64 (looks like [U:0:xxxxx] or [U:1:xxxxx]), which you can then put into a Steam ID converter such as steamidfinder.com or something. That'll give you their profile link.
I know it's more than a bit roundabout of a solution than the others but this works 100% of the time, as it's an integrated game command.

(Dear people from the future,
If this solution doesn't work... I'm sorry, there's no hope for you OR Team Fortress 2. Go out into the wasteland of Reddit or god-forbid the Community Forum (oh wait) and try to find your answer.
I bid thee safe travels, wherever they may take you.

Maybe Steam can come up with a "Recent Players" tab that actually works, kind of like how Overwatch does it nicely..............................
