Team Fortress 2

Easy Anti-Cheat - Cool. VAC - Bad
Your VAC anti-cheat very bad s absolutely useless and has not worked in the game Team Fortress 2 for more than two years, bots have filled your game, so maybe install an Easy anti-cheat? Which is installed on many games now?

The facts are as follows - In the game Dead by Daylight, easy anti-cheat is installed and there are no bots, and in the game Team fortress 2 VAC is installed, and there are bots.

I don't think replacing an ineffective anti-cheat with an ineffective invasive anti-cheat would be very wise.

both suck. trust me elden ring (a game that has easy anti cheat) has a bunch of cheaters in pvp.
edit: also easy anti cheat makes the game run worse :)

If someone doesn't see the problem, go to the Hightower map right now? Come in and look, just right now, this minute. I just got back from there, all the official servers with my favorite map are filled with bots

The thing is that VAC does work. it does kick the cheaters.
It's just that it's designed to not INSTANTLY kick cheaters, so that people can't fine-tune their hacks.
Works well against living players trying to aimbot. Works poorly against spamming automated aimbots.

if it works poorly against bots it does not work.

There's no such thing as "easy anti-cheat"

If that was true, LBOX users would get banned from time to time, which of course they do not.

bullsh*t VAC has nothing to to with aimbots, it DOES NOT analyse player's behavior in game. All it does (badly) - trying to find binaries of known cheats. That means that it can only find well known public cheats.

11k on TF2, I have seen 2-3 cheaters max in TF2. I play on community servers Skial they get instant banned.
UltraWave Mar 25, 2024 @ 4:49am
we need to make a petition to make Valve fix the main problem on TF2 which are the bots.

That clearly worked on apex legends

Steam says you spent 3717 hours in-game playing.
So you AFK'd the rest of it.

Btw, Skial does have cheaters, just because you're bad at spotting cheaters DOESN'T mean there are no cheaters.

SKial uses SMAC like any other server.
Which again, it's a terrible custom Anti Cheat and unless you're rage hacking it can't spot you.
For the topic, I completely agree.

But Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) is a kernel level anti-cheat which brings some privacy issues.
And it is something VALVe don't want their community to worry about it.

Which is one of the reasons why they use server-side Anti-Cheat.

However, EAC also well known for it's uselessness
Because, many games uses this Anti-Cheat software and it fails to bring a proper protection.

This includes MMO's, FPS shooters and some other type of games.
It's widely used and also well known by cheaters.
So many people already developed cheats that can bypass EAC.
However most games with EAC, doesn't have a bot problem.

And cheaters generally gets insta banned.
Which also means, you can't download a free cheat and ruin everyone's fun.

You can skip this part if you don't want to compare what VAC and EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) does.

VAC

  • Detection Mechanisms: VAC utilizes various detection mechanisms to identify cheating behavior:

  • Signature Scanning: VAC scans the game files and memory for known cheat signatures. These signatures are patterns of code or data associated with cheating software.
  • Behavior Analysis: VAC monitors player behavior in-game to detect suspicious patterns that may indicate cheating. This includes unusual aiming behavior, movement patterns, or other actions that are statistically improbable or impossible without cheating.
  • Hardware Identification: VAC may collect hardware information from the player's system to detect known cheat-related hardware or modifications.
  • Client-Side Integration: Similar to EAC, VAC is integrated into the game client. When a player launches a VAC-protected game, the VAC system starts running in the background.
  • Server-Side Validation: VAC communicates with the game servers to verify player actions and ensure fair play. This helps prevent cheats from bypassing client-side detection measures.
  • Delayed Bans: In some cases, VAC may delay issuing bans to suspected cheaters. This is done to gather more data and ensure the accuracy of the detection before taking action.

EAC (Easy-Anti-Cheat)

  • Client-Side Integration: EAC is integrated into the game client. This means that when you launch the game, EAC starts running in the background alongside it.
  • Kernel-Level Protection: EAC operates at a low level within the operating system, often utilizing kernel-mode drivers. This allows it to monitor and control system-level activities, such as accessing memory and system files.
  • Anti-Cheat Modules: EAC employs various modules and techniques to detect cheating behaviors. These may include:
-Memory Scanning: EAC scans the game's memory to detect any unauthorized modifications or injections. Cheating software often tries to manipulate the game's memory to gain an advantage, such as by altering player stats or enabling cheats.
-Code Signature Verification: EAC checks the integrity of game files and compares them against known signatures to detect tampering or modification.
-Cheat Detection Algorithms: EAC uses algorithms to analyze player behavior and identify patterns indicative of cheating, such as unusually high accuracy or impossible movements.
  • Behavioral Analysis: EAC monitors player actions and interactions within the game environment to detect suspicious behavior that may indicate cheating.
  • Server-Side Validation: EAC communicates with the game server to validate player actions and ensure they are legitimate. This helps prevent cheating software from bypassing client-side detection measures.
  • Continuous Updates: EAC developers regularly update the software to stay ahead of cheat developers. These updates may include new detection techniques, bug fixes, and improvements to existing features.
  • Response Mechanisms: When EAC detects cheating behavior, it can take various actions depending on the game's configuration and the severity of the violation. This may include issuing warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans from the game.

I played Paladins for years.
Your assessment is wrong, EAC does nothing.
