does anyone use mods in tf2?
im a modder, wondering what kind of mods tf2 players usually use nowadays. I wanna get into the modding scene there, but not sure where to begin.

No, cuz mods dont working in casual
Gamebanana is a good source for seeing what's popular. Most mods (model replacers, stuff like that) don't work on official servers, however. I know HUD mods do, a good few audio ones as well. Many community servers allow mods with little issue.

Due to the restrictions, I would say that HUD mods are more widely used, simply because they work nearly everywhere.

There's a lot of things that people call mods nowadays. Do you mean source mods like rtd, or compelte like big things like tf2c, or just remodels/sound/animation changes

i think the number 1 isn't really as big right now, like, just gimmick servers with random jailbreak fun aren't the thing. Full new games basically, they're always liked, but idk if they'd have big audience.

alternative models and stuff is always fun though.

here's a stupid idea for a mod: doomify everything. there's a center viewmodels mod already, also change ui mods, now imagine if players turned into different demons [for e.g. red soldier would be cacodemon, but blue soldier would be this brown cacodemon forgot the name]. And so on.

That only works with certain mods.

Yes, and there are "some" mods that do work in casual. Im not talking about HUDs, hitsound and other that doesnt get touched by sv_pure 1. I'm talking about such as retexture, remodels, and so on. From GameBanana itself, there's this vscript that you must download in order for other mods that suppose to not work, become works.

Do note however, it's not every single mod that works with the vscript. These mod are mostly tagged with "casual" so if there's a mod that doesn't say this or not recommend to the vscript, it won't work.

Edit: if you need proof, that I can provide since I'm using female pyro (not the busty one, get that ♥♥♥♥ out of here) and a custom shotgun.

Forgot to add, the problem w/ this vscript, it's gonna make your startup time slower, and some random occasion, may ctd. But it's the price I'm willing to pay for modding this game :)
