How to download and install TF2 mods?

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty new to messing around with TF2. How do you download and install mods for TF2, and how does the Steam Workshop fit into all this?

I’ve seen loads of beautiful mods out there and wanna try some out, but I’m not sure where to start. Can someone break down the steps for me? Also, if there’s anything special I need to know about using the Steam Workshop for TF2 mods, that’d be great.

We need a list of steps specifically for ragdoll mods. For some reason, I can't get them to work even if I do what the guide says.

ragdoll mods arent gonna work on most servers due to sv_pure settings, they can be abused pretty easily.
