Is it ok to be a pyro main even though i dont use the flamethrower at all?

I want to know because I feel like I play Pyro... Different from others. Here's an example: I try to snipe people using the shotgun and when someone gets too close to me I use the axe. (I am a F2P btw) I just feel that the flamethrower makes playing pyro not as fun as it is when I play it the way I play it.

If you like the shotgun you can play engie, soldier, heavy or scout and be far more useful.

The Dragon's Fury might be the perfect weapon for you then. It's basically a fire shotgun.

You can 'main' pyro and not use his primary, kind of like demoknights or fat scout mains.
I think you could try using airblasts to put people in difficult situations to shotgun them down with. It can be fun that way too.

I don't get why it's accepted to throw in this game. You do ♥♥♥♥ like this in any other game and you get kicked but for some reason not in tf2.
