Team Fortress 2
Insecure mode
Hi, basically I use arch linux (EOS) and I switched to it again couple days ago and suddenly after downloading TF2 I got the issue. Every time I try to join server I get "You are in insecure mode. You must restart before you can connect to secure servers". I tried uninstalling, typing "-secure" in launch options, deleting config in game files but nothing helped. Is there any way to fix this? It's the first time I got it in my 12 years of TF2 gaming.

the answer is to not use Proton, as it is incompatible with the VAC system. Even if you do manage to get it running, you will see atrocious performance compared to native.

If you are having issues using the native version of TF2, chances are that you are encountering the common issue related to TF2's bundled memory allocator. I'd suggest replacing it.

Since we are friends, if you are having trouble doing this feel free to send me a DM.
