How do Pyro Mains justify not having any skill?
>only effective damage output that actually kills people consistently is w+m1
>can only puff and sting reliably in extreme close quarters, faster to w+m1 anyway, effectively usless.
>flare gun doesn't do enough damage to kill people by itself ever (pyro has no long range, even medium range damage.
>class's actual game contribution is just w+m1 99% of the time
>least intuitive, least skill-requiring class to play, but dominates when you get caught in close quarters unless you get lucky.
>literally every pyro primary encourages this god-awful playstyle except the degreaser.
>only skill you can develop to contribute anything more than w+m1 is airblasting, which requires a good bit of practice and good reaction time to get good at, yet provides only a marginal benefit in the vast majority of situations. The amount of time invested would've been better used on any other class.

People used to complain that solider requires no skill, maybe less than other classes but there is definitely some skill involved when it comes to predicting where your target is heading next. Your target can attempt to dodge your rockets and do it successfully unless they get unlucky or are unexperienced. The difference between an experienced and green soldier are night and day, the difference in pyro is pretty much only in the airblasting skill.

To invest so much time into a class that takes no skill to be good at, only to be effective when you luckily run into someone in close quarters, it's cheap. You literally just have a 30 degree range of death several meters in front of you that kills the average player in like 2.5 seconds, how can it be more cheap? It feels patronizing playing pyro.

>B-BUT YOU'RE J-JUST B-BAITING!

Yeah a little. The point here is that this will be an actual discussion, not a sh.itpost, there is actual content for discussion here. If this qualifies as complete bait to you then you are extremely fluoridated and have brain parasites (steam discussion moderators) and should probably stay in your containment zone (reddit).

Heavy's playstyle is also w+m1 but i don't see people complaining about it for some reason.

All classes require some skill and training. Pyro being positional/offensive support requires projectile defense, deterring enemies, Engineer protection and Uber denial. I feel, personally, ultimately requires skill when these objectives are being used.

There is definitely an arguement to be made here, but I personally disagree. Heavy is fat and, can't follow you at all, and gets even fatter and slower when deployed. He's significantly more avoidable. Most of the time it's only over for you if you get caught near point-blank.

Yes, but 99% of the time pyro is just w+m1ing, everything else is situational at best. Airblasting is never totally effective unless it's just you and one soldier/demo in a corridor.

dragon's fury?

Forgot about that one. Still, overall, it's w+m1ing 99% of the time. I don't see pyros using it frequently probably because you actually have to aim.

Also forgot to mention, don't recall the name because I don't play pyro but the secondary that lets you jump across the map. Atleast before you had to get caught in close quarters before getting ganked, now pyro and fly towards you and close the gap quickly, denigrating the modicum of balance the class had previously.

how do Team Fortresses justify not having any 2?

-Most classes are W+M1.
-Flying Pyros eliminates the need for long range/medium range weapons.

Pyro are very easy to counter. Just use bullets. Snipers, Heavies, and sentries. I'm personally a fan of dropping a mini.

Absolutely not! Elaborate? Every other class actually requires you to track targets, even heavy close range requires a modicum of target tracking.

>Flying pyros eliminates the need for long/medium range weapons
Way to miss the point completely, pyro already dominating close range should be more than enough. Giving him a ridiculously easy and fast method close the gap is OP and pretty much eliminates his only serious flaw.

In conclusion, you didn't read everything in it's entirety or you are a simpleton.

Pyro has the deepest range of skill expression of any class by a mile. I don't care if Pyro's skill floor is low, every single class (except maybe Sniper and Scout) have a low skill floor when fighting against most casual players.

Also stop greentexting outside of 4chan.
You need to play the game AND the class in order to find out what Pyro actually requires.

Most regulars here including normal players, plays Demoman or Soldier.
Then complains about any class that directly counters their favourite class.
This includes unlocks.

Either you haven't played Pyro at all.
Or you didn't encounter a good one.
