Team Fortress 2
My Controller Settings
People sometimes ask me if I really do play with a controller. The answer is yes! I use an Xbox One Controller. Here are my settings that I use (and maybe you would like to try it out!):

A - Jump (Should Be Default?)
B - Reload (Should Be Default?)
X - Taunt (For paid taunts, press left or right on the d-pad and scroll over to said taunt then press A)
Y - Display Scoreboards
LT - Alternate Fire (Should Be Default?)
RT - Primary Fire (Should Be Default?)
LB / RB - Previous / Next Weapon (Should Be Default?)
Back - Switch Class
LS - Crouch
RS - MEDIC!!!
D-Pad Up - Switch Teams
D-Pad Left - Use Inventory Item (Grapple Hook)
D-Pad Right - Spray
D-Pad Down - +Use Bind (bind "DOWN" +use; Was Toggle Player Ready For MVM Previously)

Vertical (Yaw) Sensitivity: -1.710000 (To change the exact sensitivity number, go into your config.cfg and 360 controller.cfg (or whatever controller your using), and change the numbers. Save, start TF2, disable / un-check the use game-pad option, apply, the turn it back on and apply again for it to take affect. I HIGHLY recommend not going past "-1.75.0000". Then again, I am a Scout main and I have the sensitivity apply to him. "-1.710000" still works perfectly for the rest of the classes though IMO!)
Horizontal (Pitch) Sensitivity: 1.0 (Default)

Crosshair: Default (If changed, delete the crosshair setting line in the config.cfg file and save)

EXTRAS (OPTIONAL):

- Fast Weapon Switch ON
- Viewmodel FOV: 55.570000 (Or the line right after the very first line / right in the middle of the very second line)

PROS:

- Feel like it's the orange box TF2 again!

- If you suck with mouse & Keyboard or you don't like it, Controller is perfect

- Be hella based AF. Dominate those keyboard users with your chad controller!

CONS:

- If the controls I listed "should be default" isn't default or working without changing anything, then you have to bind your controller to those actions. Doing so will make it so you cant use the mouse anymore!

- Can't Rocket Jump Efficiently. You still can perform it, just don't expect to go extremely high (Unless you increase vertical sensitivity)

- Can't flick shot or have quick reaction time / accuracy as sniper. Or maybe you still can. IDK, I was never good as sniper

Just wanted to share my setup with you! Maybe try this at one point as a challenge or for a different play style all together

I had the left to use voice chat and the right to call Medic. LT for me is last weapon used because I used to play Spy a lot and it was a quick way to stab and sap before giving the sentry time to turn around. Like I said on an old post, if you think about it most classes in TF2 doesn’t require much aim expect for Sniper. I’m waiting on my Steam Deck Oled. I’ll post a video soon.
Idk if those keybinds are good so I'm not going to comment on that matter, but using a controller to play TF2 sounds so anti-fun, it's like trying to upset yourself on purpose or something.

It's not bad at all! Considering that most classes reward you for missing, the only one that's remotely challenging to play is scout.

I play with an Xbox One controller in my left hand while mouse aiming with my right hand. It's weird, but it works for me.

When I use a controller I use the default x360 control mapping for sniper and don't seem have any trouble with flicks, but to play trolldier I use the Left Trigger to Crouch (since there is no need for Alt Fire). Improves jumping and gardening bigly
