why have him in the game
The base game has unlocks that make Scout's job easier. For instance, he can use Bonk to draw the attention of Sentries, allowing his teammates to destroy the Sentry more easily. He can also use Bonk to escape from Sentries if necessary.
Alternatively, Scout can strategically avoid getting too close to Sentries and focus on flanking other classes.
Destroying nests is typically the responsibility of Soldier, Demoman, Medic, Heavy, and Spy. In this class-based shooter game, each class has a counter and is countered by others. Engineers can counter Scouts effectively if they deploy a Sentry.
This doesn't render Scout obsolete; instead, it adds an element of challenge to his gameplay.
It seems you may be exaggerating the situation.
The only maps he struggles is choke-fest spammy maps like dustbowl.
Which only masochists play that map.
Not only scouts, the only reason why it cripples the scout beacuse it makes it harder for him to flank BUT not impossible.
However, each class is slightly stronger on one map and slightly weaker on another. For example, pyro... on open maps will not be as good as on tight ones
Open maps favor Soldier, and Scout for their mobility.
If their Medic knows how to overheal Demomans too.
But a Pyro can still destroy any soldier or demoman flying towards him instantly.
Some routes take longer but not for a scout.
Most people i’ve seen pick him use him for the wrong reasons his speed and capping points.
Yes, he’s awesome at both but it’s not scouts greatest strength his greatest strength is getting places easily that other classes has to try to get to.
A good scout is a distraction that picks off the backline by taking the most ”wtf where’d you come from?” Routes, which in turn distracts the frontline and allows for your frontline to gain ground.
If you want to fight in the frontline, you pick a frontline class, not sure why i’m giving you advice when good scouts is a thorn in my side.
Some great advice for you is watch some ”sin scout gameplay” i’m not sure how many routes i found that i never knew existed.
Why would you play Scout on Upward?
WHY would you play upward ?
