No direct recipe though.

You can get the thermal thruster the same ways you can get every other weapon. Item drops, random crafting, and trading. The contract is just a free, guaranteed way of getting it.

If you want to get an item (that’s not strange or warpainted or australium or anything weird) keep in mind most items are worth the same amount, and you can probably trade off 2 weapons you don't want (most likely duplicates) for 1 item you so, and the other person will see it as profit and probably accept the trade.

Also there are tradable versions of the thermal thruster, but any weapon you get from a contract is not tradable.

Oh, and you can "borrow" any one item from the mannco store(untradeable) for as long as you want. Return it to pick up something else.
