why does the sentry gun have soo much knockback?
Like the most knockback per bullet in the entire game. Never really noticed until I payed attention to it.

Blessing and a curse. Keeps you from walking into it too quickly, but is perfect for an escape. If I know I can't take down the sentry, I'll ride the knockback to the enemy's backlines

Well, with the help of a wrangler, an engineer can ride the bullets as a jump tool. It also helps keep with crowd control of players.
Idk and idk but I like surfing off the knockback :steamhappy:

prettymuch, its both to keep it useful as an actual area denial and to keep it's damage falloff at least somewhat high. No one wants to be caught into a call of duty firing trap and die without escape

Sometimes as Medic I hope for Heavies, or any other class to not jump around the corner to engage the sentry. Knockback most likely helps with the defense aspect.

It's firing 65% more bullet per bullet

Yeah I realized that was poor word choice, being pushed further away for the sake of escaping was the point, my bad

So that they can have high chances of dying to fall damage rather than being outright destroyed by sentry

150 DPS + rockets will do that on its own.

Just to be annoying, I think.

The primary source of a sentry's knockback is hitscan. Rockets are not hitscan. Hope this helps

It's probably should have less knockback.

That's right, it also costs 200 mental to upgrade level one Sentry, and during setup time in Mann vs. Machine, buildings cost no metal to place and finish construction immediately as level 3, with Dispensers being fully stocked. Using a Buildings Upgrade Canteen also instantly sends all existing buildings to level 3, even if they are still constructing.

Reading is knowledge, and knowledge is power!

Minor spelling mistake. Irrelevant tf2 trivia discarded.
