how do i enable DirectX 8 mode?

do this in the advanced options
-dxlevel 80
anyway, why do you want to be directx 8?

try -dxlvl 6
your graphic looks like 5D

go to your steam library.
right click tf2 and go to propreties then click ''set launch options''
paste ''-dxlevel 80'' there and click ok
next time you open the game you won't see the glow of a crit boosted weapon(just the lightnings)

thanks. i'm just wanting DirectX 8 because some lighting for some reason is blinding to me, but even turning the shaders to low does nothing to help me. i'm hoping DirectX 8 mode helps me with this problem.
