Tips to stop raging so much?

I know this is a bit of a whiny thing to bring up, but I cant get onto a server now without someone with an unusual hat or australium weapon joining the game, kicking my arse so hard, and taunting after every kill.
I usually start off pretty calm, and open up chat and type "Oh typical, here we go again..." or somehting like that, but after they keep beating me and taunting I cant help but burst into a fit of rage. "Dude jesus christ will you please stop taunting me, just piss off."
And then they start insulting me in chat "LOL u suck" "ez" "
And I cant help but rage so hard.
I've even had a guy follow me around servers just to harrass me over and over, its getting to a point that no matter what I do, I cant enjoy tf2 anymore because some guy who spent hundreds of pounds on hats and weapons wants to prove a point that he's better than me.
So any tips on how to deal with it? I've tried switching servers, but they either follow me around the servers or annother guy joins and starts it all off again.

Try lowering your graphics, it makes the game faster and details dosent matter :P
And try practicing and find a main class, like Soldier and Scout.

Video games are meant to be an entertaining hobby, and it's silly to get mad over something so inconsequential. If they're causing you frustration and anger instead, maybe you should find a different hobby like gardening.

I main sniper usually, and I sometimes end up dominating the guy who was tauting, usually as Pyro, sniper, scout or soldier. But that never seems to stop them tanting or shut them up.

I know its a very stupid thing to get angry about, since in tf2 there are no rewards for winning and loosing. But when people target me specifically and taunt me all the time, I take it personally as if these people have some sort of problem with me.
But you have a point, I guess its not really something to get mad over.

But you have a point, I guess its not really something to get mad over.

They target you because you're an easy target to get a reaction out of.

If it's that bad, you could just disable text chat. But you'll never learn anything that way.
