What is with these [EU] fastpath servers?

Every time I try to join a community server, I get redirected back to this fastpath garbage that's always on 2fort with bots disguised as real players, wtf is going on?

There's a bunch of fake servers, usually with gibberish names, or names that might vaguely sound like servers that are not part of a huge chain. They all redirect to the same fastpath server.
AFAIK the players are mostly bots disguised as real players, but that's more hearsay than fact currently. I merely remember that being the case.
Also, they are offering the ability to kick/ban players if you give them money.

in a server of 24 "players" there were usually 3-5 real people

I think servers that have 7 players and a couple bots are always fastpath servers. There's a way to tell that they're fastpath in the server browser if they're called something else, and I think that's the way to find them. I've blacklisted most if not all of them doing this

Probably to get a semi-decent playerbase, of which some might donate? I don't get it either, but getting admin powers by donating tells me enough.

Yeah, most, if not all, are 7/32 players, and if you quick refresh, they have a different name. If the server name doesn't already give it away, that's how I can tell for sure.

That's why the fake redirects are there...to steal your steam name.
To be honest, playing on Fastpath you may as well install RCBot2 for TF2 and play a local game, its the same thing only without the scams.

The Fastpath servers are a known issue throughout multiple Source Mod communities. They have found a way to 'spoof' multiple servers in the server browser which all lead to a single server.

Recently, they've begun banning people indiscriminately. If you find yourself banned from multiple servers this is likely what has happened.

The developers are looking for ways to identify and prevent them from spoofing the server browser.

Fastpath don't care about games, they care about scamming.
