Is it normal to be kicked from a CTF game for actually trying to CTF?
Nobody was interested in capturing the intel. But I was, since that's the point of the game. I'm trying to win games to earn points. But got kicked for it. Maybe they should play on a community server instead.

Yeah, that happens pretty often.

Funnily enough there are community servers that run 2Fort or Turbine 24/7 where the match never ends, they should play there instead.

Just happened again. it's unplayable. What's the point of casual matches if you can't play without getting kicked?

I regret to inform you that ctf is pretty much unplayable even if everyone tries to play the objective and no one gets kicked. It's a bad mode with mostly terrible maps. Stick to 5cp and koth imo.

add a time limit and the gamemode becomes almost bearable

CTF, 5CP & Payload Race should have a hard time limit at around 30 min.

Instead of defaulting to a stalemate, it would grant a win to the team that had most captures or advanced the cart the most when round ends.
Stalemate should only happen when both teams end with an equal score (2x2 captures, for example).

Of course it's normal, it's the tf2 community after all.
As it's a gamemode without a time limit and most of the maps for it are designed so that you have to go out of your way to play the objective, CTF is generally considered the "screw around" gamemode and capturing the intel is looked down on.

Literally wtf is the point of a 30 minute timer? Unless everyone is being friendly the match will be over by then. It should be a 10 minute timer.

I have been wanting to play competetive, but every time I try to wait for a match, I give up, because it doesn't find any. Yesterday I got it searching, and then went to play a casual match while I waited, and eventually the game itself just automatically stopped searching for a competetive match.
maybe they should try getting a job.
