Better HUD?
Would be great if by the end of the year Team Fortress 2 (TF2) has more customization features built into HUDs. Having to download a HUD made by others is a great help, but game file verification complications persist as evidenced by sv_ variable related updates.

Windows will integrate features for manipulating lights on pc components and so the game may soon be able to hook into my keyboard to set the team colour. Not sure a HUD could change PC lights unless it was maliciously packaged.

If using a 3rd party HUD it should be for the intended purpose; cosmetic alterations to the overall in-game layout, maybe resolution related optimizations, some variables.

Perhaps we need a repository for submitting a custom HUD directly to the workshop. How to automate that feature and are there examples in the community?

Previously used that one HUD with a perspective based rainbow of colours at 90 degree angles (with a dark background) and mastercomfig (THE HUD). I like mastercomfig because the advanced website interface shows the care and thought put into the project.

From a sustaining the game viewpoint, HUD projects help a great deal! Side note: CS2 folks seeing any HUD customization options built in beyond the normal crosshair sharing?

It’s not hard to edit your own hud just like it’s not hard to create your own config. Valve gives you the tools, and plenty of users have been kind enough to create a base for you to customize your game at a level that valve could only dream of supporting.

Community-made HUDs exist for people that don’t like the default one, people can just download the ones they like. Simple as that.

To drive demand for updates and upgrades we need modern HUD customization tools to make it very easy for users to modify a default setup from in-game.

Can maps can change the entire HUD utilizing vscript? It would be cool if a map detected a streamer and placed the HUD elsewhere to avoid the camera, or other overlay.

ToonHUD does this. The issue with valve supporting what has historically been community-driven endeavors is that they suck at actually listening to the community that drives them.
I can really only see valve being able to support moving certain hud elements around your screen, as anything else is probably require more effort than it’s worth.

Huds are client side I don’t know how you’d jerryrig vscript to make it edit your hud in real time. I don’t have any experience with vscript though.
learn to install custom HUDs. if none suit your liking, make your own.

Nothing beats the default hud with the 2006 class icons on the healthbar.

Default hud but with damage numbers, centered Uber meter, and better loadout screen

True, I just want everything closer to my crosshair so I don't suddenly realize I'm dead because I forgot to check my health

Relative to the outside frame, most objects are this number of pixels from the border @ 1920x1200.

Reticle: Centered: 16px

Character: Lower Left: 64px by 64px
Health/Ammo/Effect: Left Left: 192px by 128px
Streak: Lower Left: 256px by 64px

Blue Team Players: Top
Blue Team Score: Top
Timer
Red Team Score: Top
Red Team Players: Top

Objective: Bottom: Centered: 64px

Scoreboard: Top: Right: 32px
Chat: Bottom: Left: 256px

Player: Ammo: Lower Right: 32 px
Player: Ammo: Status: Lower Right: 192px

After all that I just want to be able to drag each around so it looks good on my screen. HUD designer website to see results beforehand? Need the ability to copy cross hair codes from cs.
