1 ping = cheater?

Hi, I am a tf2 player. I keep getting 1 ping because of how close I live to the tf2 server. Many 10K hour sweats keep accusing me of cheating when I’m not even a cheater. Some even tried to manipulate f2p people to kick me. Weird part is that when it’s an actual cheater, they usually just say “oh he’s just good” when the person has like multiple vac bans in record and makes various references to tf2 cheats. It’s weird I gotta say.

I just needed to be clear a common misconception that most people have on this game. What are your thoughts?

At best, you could probably fake your ping. But you won't gain any form of competitive advantage from it.

If you live really close to the servers, your ping will be considerably lower then people who live further away. In this case, there's really not much you can do, nor is it cheating to be taking advantage of the situation your in.

You're fine either way. If someone about it, just mute them and keep playing.

1 ping is quite literally impossible unless you’re sitting ontop of the server.

Yes, 1 ping means that they are cheating. Lowest possible ping on valve servers is 8 without cheats. Prob using a ping hider (considered cheating still).

Incorrect, you just need a good network config and really good internet. My internet is pretty expensive so it’s pretty fast too. You also need to live near the server

I believe you are incorrect. Even vorobey confirmed in his last community post that 1 ping is possible.

I think that to get 1 ping you need to be physically connected to the server with a good cat 8 ethernet cable
