Team Fortress 2
Support classes in tf2 are strange
Let's take a closer look at them. First we have Medic who clearly is a support character, because he's dedicated to healing teammates. He's so much dedicated to healing that his weapons kinda suck and he mostly relies on his heling target to do the killing. And then we got the Sniper where things get a little bit more complicated. Sniper is a killer, he does a lot of damage (clearly he doesnt strugle with getting kills). The only weapon that can support is Jarate (maybe helping by picking of enemies when your teammate is in fight may be called ,,support"). And last we got the Spy who's also a killer and i cant really find anything about supporting your team expect sapping sentries so your dumb scout will stop running into them or ocasionally picking of snipers, medics etc. I might see a scheme in this. The idea of support classes may be that they dont support team, but they need their teammates to play properly (for example lets say you're palying sniper on (almost) empty server, with one opponent in enemy team. that means you're staying far away from objective. if you're staying away from objective there's no one to cap it, but if you're standing on objective you're an easy target. Thats why you need your team. In case of spy you can make use of your team making pushes, because enemies are most probably not going to turn around).
What do you think about this?

Sniper and spy are support classes because they can get crucial picks (oppressive sniper, medic w/ ubercharge etc.)
What a surprise the person who made the thread asking for more long range options so Sniper isn't a Sniper doesn't understand why the support classes are grouped that way.
