The Vita-Saw is seriously underrated as a weapon
I always see people writing the weapon off as useless even post-reworking with the organ harvesting mechanic, due to the Ubersaw reigning supreme. I'm not one of those lucky Medics who gets a guaranteed Ubersaw crit, so the slower swing speed is a detriment in close quarters situations.

Meanwhile, pairing the Vita-Saw with the Vaccinator is perfect for more fast paced game modes like King of the Hill, where you won't always have the opportunity to build uber off of someone who's in spawn or nearby, plus you don't need all four bars to be able to give a charge. One organ is already enough to get one of the four bars full, so there's some cool synergy there.

Dying as Medic in such a gamemode occurs a lot, so being able to get a head start in uber for a mere -10 Max HP is laughably broken and I'm disappointed that not more people realize the potential it has. Especially if you keep getting flanked by Spies who think that the Dead Ringer makes them immune to death, they're a nice source of organs.

Vitamin Mcsaw was a man, and he was the top of the Organ Selling Business

However he had a older brother that was rising quickly in the market, Ubers Mcsaw who was both slow in the brain and slow physically, had gained a large number of buyers after years online, manipulating youtubers into believing that the Organs that Vitamin was Selling weren’t any good.

One Day, At 5:46 PM Ubers was selling some hearts when Vitamin came up to him and said “this town isn’t big enough for 2 Organ Sellers” Ubers felt that it was true, so you know what he did about it?

He stole Vitamin’s organs,

afterwards he kicked out Vitamin from town and Vitamin had to move a City with a population of only six people.

Moral of the story: Sell Drugs, Not Organs

Ok but being able to get full uber in four melee hits for a comedically pointless downside is just better, which is why you don't see people using anything else.

I don't understand, it's 3 short paragraphs. Can you not read beyond the level of a fifth grader?

I haven't gotten to the level of skill required to make getting full uber from 4 swings viable and consistent. That and my bad luck means I constantly am pitted against people with thousands of hours more experience in the game. Getting full uber with the Ubersaw in an actual match is a pipe dream for me.

Finally someone who actually played with it and doesn’t just see a video and say that. Yes the Uber saw is better and yes I do use it myself but god dang the vita saw is so good with stock medi gun. I’d say it is the second best melee for medic. Thanks for making this public

Yeah everyone is saying that and it’s true. But it is really hard to pull of more than 2 hits without risking dying and unless the team can’t protect you or you have a spy that is targeting you, you don’t really have a reason to use it. Also for the record. That statue melee ( forgot the name) is actual F tier in casual. Even bonesaw is better than it so I am tired of people putting it in A or S tier all the time.

reading the title is sufficient. if you titled your thread "water is red" i wouldn't have to read the OP to know that your thesis is wrong

There's no such thing as an "incorrect opinion".
This response is moreso for the benefit of the reader, but this is not true. Objective truth exists and if you hold an opinion that is contrary to reality then that opinion is necessarily incorrect. Example: "the vita saw is underrated". It isn't.

I literally stated a situation in the original post where the Vita-Saw is more useful. Also, as a Medic, you're a priority to the enemy team as they'll always go for you rather than whoever you're healing. "Good Medics don't die", sure, whatever you say. They may die less but to say that they don't die is disingenuous at best and you know it. If you avoid dying, either your team is carrying you or you're not doing your job properly as a Medic since you'll always be in the front lines.
Or you could ubersaw them and get a vacc charge instantly :/
You try doing that against a team that knows what it's doing and kills you before you even get in melee range. I can guarantee you the only reason you get 90% of your Ubersaw kills is with random crits. Uber now is useless, even with the Vaccinator, if you just die anyway, meaning you can't utilize it well at all. At least with getting a single hit with the Vita-Saw means you get a head start on respawn rather than losing all uber, which is ideal in these situations where every second counts.

Also stop using the vaccinator please. It's cancer.

No. If it gets results, I'll keep using it. I'll start using it more if it means I get to spite people like you.
