How get weapons and cosmetics without paying

I want to get weapons and cosmetics (emotes) As i want to customize my characters so how do i do that?

If you play for long enough, random drop weapons should appear in your inventory. Hats take months to appear, except on Halloween where you can get hats by doing merasmissions. As far as I’m aware there is no way to get free emotes besides the director’s vision which you can really only get from community achievement servers.

years ago before TF2 went F2P there's a cracked version of TF2 that contain all cosmetic in the game

There’s a website called scrap.tf where you can trade for stuff. If you really need items quick you can buy a key off of the community marketplace and exchange it for metal and use metal to buy weapons

Weapons drops in game randomly. There is a limit for dropping weapons, this limit resets itself every thursday.

For cosmetic there are a few achievements that rewards the player with cosmetics. For other cosmetics you need to become a premium player and trade hats, you can also buy cosmetics from steam market (doesnt require tf2 premium)

You can get the directors vision taunt by completing an achievement. Other taunts requires trading.

You need to become a premium if you want cosmetics n stuff.

You can also play Spiral Knights and Alien Swarm to receive free promotional hats
