GIF spray not showing in-game?

For some reason my vtf gif spray won't show up in-game. I have followed a steam guide to import this spray and I'll put the link here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=179083776
Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong or what I should check for as the spray just isn't showing in-game even though I have it selected and everything.

Had this problem before. Check your spray, add it then quit. If it doesn't show up quit and restart TF2 again. Then hopefully it should be there.

Just in case I don't get it after this post what exactly do you mean by "check your spray." And how would I add it again? But hopefully what you have told me works the second time as it didn't work the first time.

Just in case I don't get it after this post what exactly do you mean by "check your spray." And how would I add it again? But hopefully what you have told me works the second time as it didn't work the first time.

Make sure you added it in right, choosing the right one. Then go to multiplayer and change it back. I use a Mac so use the Windows equivalent of Finder to get into the steam folder, and make sure it's in this order:

steamapps > > Team Fortress 2 > tf > Materials

Okay, one spray I got from Gamebanana was a .rar file. The instructions said if I put it in download in the tf folder it should work.

Try putting it in there, next to a couple other folders like maps, materials, sound, etc.
