Why does the Pyro take damage from the flamethrower (or any fire-based weapon in general)?
He has a flame retardant suit, so why does he take any damage from a flamethrower? This always puzzled me...

It's not Flame immune, just resists catching fire after the flames are gone.

Because even though the suit is flame-retardant, it can't protect the wearer from getting roasted by the direct heat.

This is why the suit is so bulky and loose, because that means less of the suit is in direct contact with the wearer's skin, and that's also why skin-tight suits on fem-Pyro models make absolutely no sense.

Because if the pyro wasn't like that you find two noobs ever next minute burning each other

You still get damaged because of too hot.

A better question, why DOSEN'T the pyro's air tank explode/not work when it's on fire.

I don't remember flame retardant being equivalent to non-conductive to heat. Firefighters still die in bushfires/wildfires/whatever fires because the heat is too much.

Why doesn't the Soldier's helmet protect his head from bullets?

Why doesn't the Soldier's helmet protect his head from bullets?

Why doesn't the Heavy die from high blood pressure?

There is no such thing as fire proof, only fire resistant.

Why isn't the Scout's handsome head of hair falling out from all the radiation poisoning from drinking so much Bonk?
