The Actual Way to Pronounce Claidheamh Mòr
Ok, so I am from Ireland and have learned to speak the language in school, and I am sick and tired of people pronouncing Claidheamh Mòr as "Claymore". A claymore is a big scottish sword, but not the same thing as the Claidheamh Mòr, the Claidheamh Mór is a celtic sword and you can tell ny the designs and gold at the hilt, google celtic designs and you will find similar patterns. Claidheamh Mór is Irish for "Big(mór) Sword(claidheamh)".

In the area of Ireland that I live in, it would be pronounced "claw-jev-more". Irish words are pronounced differently in different parts of Ireland, but Claidheamh Mór would never be pronounced as "Claymore" in any part of the country.

Also for those wondering, the thing above the A is called a fáda, and makes it produce and 'aw' sound. It can appear above any of the vowels, á=aw. é=ay. í=ee. ó=oh. ú=ooh.
The mh makes a 'v' sound, and dh can either make a 'y' or 'j' sound.
Vowels put beside eachother never make a new sound, the just keep the sound of the first vowel.

If you have a youtube channel or anything, please pronounce it properly and stop making Irish people cringe whenever you mention it. ;)

Thanks you for your time in an attempt to clear this amusing topic.. Unfortunately, people will continue making a mess with the pronounciation, after-all, we're lazy people..

Claymore is the English pronunciation of Claidheamh mòr, meaning big sword in gaelic. The word is actually pronounced "Clayav-morr" or "Clive-a-morr" check the IPA pronunciation, it's like that
