Halloween/Full Moon - How does It Work?
Hey, I'm new to TF2 and I'm glad I started playing it. Only been playing like about 3 days. I noticed all this Halloween Events, and the Full Moon events and I'm not quite sure what it's all about.

Like, what are they? What do they do? What do you do with them? What is the point of the events? what's the items you can get from it? What's the story behind it?

Can someone who's done this before give me a little info and advice about how I should go about jumping on the bandwagon and joining the events? I'd love to do so, mainly to unlock the achievements.

Thanks in advance!

Halloween and Full Moon days are just times when players can wear cosmetics that are exclusive to Halloween (exclusive items should have a pumpkin icon next to them). The only thing that makes this an eye opener is the fact that random Halloween Gifts will spawn on halloween maps (Mann Manor, Lakeside Event, etc.) when Halloween comes in. Find the gift and you receive a random Halloween cosmetic, depending on the map.

To know if a Full Moon is in progress, check the main menu or the standard motd screen (the screen you always see when joining a server). If you see a unique nighttime background (or the "enjoy the full moon" in the motd), Full Moon is activated. Same applies in Halloween.

In a nutshell, Full Moon and Halloween are just there to up the spook factor time to time, though gameplay is usually unaffected (save for new maps that happen every Halloween).

Oh alright, thanks! I thought it would be related to the Mann CO man vs machine thingy to get the rewards and such. Big fan of spooky stuff during Halloween, and I look forward to joining the Halloween maps this year.

Thanks again! :)

Halloween is an irish pagn holiday, it works by people celebrating it on a certain day, a full moon is a moon that has no earth shadow so all visable sections are luminated by the sun... Your welcome in advance
btw. You can force a Halloweenmode with an Enchantment: Eternaween, its like the Halloween / fullmoon mode but w/o gifts.

Huh, neat. Should get my hands on it. The maps are quite fun and Halloween is my favorite time of the year.

Starting out in this game is a hard road, I suggest checking out a channel on YouTube called "FUNKe" and find his video called
"The Problematic Learning Curve", it makes it quite clear why the game is so hard to learn and it's something that I wish I saw earlier. Sorry this isn't related to the thread but since you mentioned you were new I thought it was a good place to recommend them.
