Question about audio?
Recently got a new gaming headset (Rosewill RHTS-8206 for anyone interested) and it is a 5.1 surround sound headset, but using the driver cd's software you can enable "virtual 7.1 surround." I'm not much of an expert in this area, but if I have the virtual 7.1 enabled, does that mean i should configure the audio in tf2 for 7.1, or should i set it at 5.1 since it is natively 5.1?

It's not going to make any difference in TF2. This program really doesn't use that technology. It's better for most single player experience.

I'm not sure, but since you can simulate virtual surround even on stereo headphones, it should even work if you set 2.0/2.1

It seems to work but i can't tell much of a difference. Perhap's it is just my untrained ears or whatever

Did you try stereo, 5.1, or both? If you did try both, then my next question is do you know what kind of sound card you have?
Oh i just realized that the virtual 7.1 was disabled in the software for some reason. Perhaps i forgot to apply the changes. I can hear a difference now, atleast generally.

Well as long as you're satisfied with what you have. I'm not too much of an expert on this, just trying to help.
Don't worry I appreciate it :)
