Where can I find the sound effects?
I want to make a sound mod for the Heavy's Minigun, but I can't find the source for the original files.
I mean,I tried to load the sound .vpk files with GCFScape but they're empty. No files are showing up.
If you have a way to get the Vanilla Minigun sounds please tell me before the idea for the mod gets out of my head D:

Make sure you're looking inside tf2_sounds_dir.vpk (or whatever, just end with the dir). That's the only one with anything you can extract.

You opened up tf2_sound_misc_dir.vpk?

Also be sure you know how to loop the sounds if your mod replaces one of those sound files, in my experience they don't loop properly and I STILL haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong.

Yah,I know,I need to use Goldwave,(I think it's called Goldwave?)
The files can only loop if they have loop cues (I know, weird, huh?) and the only way you can do it is with Goldwave.

Ohhhhh. I use Audacity which is hella simpler but doesn't use loop cues to my knowledge. I'll have to look into that.
In any case, happy modding!
