While clones is the obvious theory, what if it was stranger? That they all just happen to be dopplegangers of one another? There has been cases of people around the world who look extroidinarily alike, who lead very similar lifes, yet have different personalities. Exactly, a Fate Worse Than Chess is when they merged. The 6 part series is about them coming back together.
