Besides, 120 ping js far from unplayable, as long as it's stable, even 200 ping is doable. For half a year I've been playing with average 170 ping, and the only problem were the lag spikes, not the actual ping.
Also, download speed doesn't matter. Download speed tells us how much you can download at once, ping tells us how quickly you can start downloading. I have 100 mb/s internet now, but my ping is no better than when I had 12 mb/s. Even if you can download 1GB/s, if it takes 1 minute to connect to the server, your ping is still going to be trash

Also using Wlan can give you a higher ping. so maybe try a cable instead, if you are on wlan.
