Gun spy: yay or nay?
Basically playing spy with your revolver (or amby if you have aimnot levels of aim for meatshot-like damage on all ranges), on the front lines, kinda like a slower scout but without the weakness to sentries and pyros(spycicle) and replacing respawn with dead ringer.
So it it somewhat viable or utter fecalia?

I use stock, I suck at using the amby.

No, Spy isn't a combat class.

What you should be doing is rely on stealth as usual, but with your ability to see health you can use your Revolver to pick off low-health enemies.

Not viable to solely rely on your gun, in my opinion. But when I personally play spy I get just as many kills with revolver as I do with my knife.

Revolver doesn't work well as a main weapon, because it's damage isn't enough to be a serious threat. Using revolver as a fallback weapon when you need it is much better.

The revolver is to help defend yourself close range, or pick off low health targets.
I personally use the amby to headshot those airblasting pyros.

I do this sometimes. you can check my alt names for proof.

amby is basically a direct upgrade

Gun Spy is a legit thing when paired with the Dead Ringer. Due to the nature of the DR, Knife kills are a tad harder to obtain, to compensate you use the survival mechanic of the DR in combination with the stock Revolver or the Ambassador. The Revolver is not doing too shabby damage, don't underrestimate it, however Ambassador will turn you into a nightmare if you get the headshots consistently when you need them.

Gun Spy "yay", but "nay" if you try it with different watches other than DR. This also means you need to know WHEN to be a Gun Spy and when to simply go for the backstabs instead.

It's factually the best way to play spy in Highlander and debatably pubs depending on the average IQ of the enemy team
In 6s if you're playing gunspy you'd be better off as another class, though, so stabbing things is the right way to go if you're on spy at all

On a pub amby is your main weapon when you get good with it, basicly a ranged knife.

I prefer calling it a "sub-sniper rifle" considering the possible fire rate and the damage output.

revolver spy is nothing like scout what are you on about
Flank + decent hitscan weapon + survival tool (Bonk / Mad Milk; DR), equally annoying, both are quite fast, both are fragile... I assume you should get the gist of it.

scout is based on mobility spy is based on stealth
Not with the Amby he isn't. Gunspy in HL acts a second scout, and does said job pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ respectably.
