Cow Mangler a noob weapon?

So I wanted to make a fun, new loadout for the soldier because I got bored using the stock rocket launcher all the time. I noticed I had a strange cow mangler and a strange festive buff banner, and thought it would be fun to use them for a new loadout. I start using the loadout and I'm told that the mangler requires less skill to aim with, but from what I can see the regular projectiles move at the same speed as the stock rockets. Is this a noob weapon or was the guy just being a sore loser? Also I know that it isn't the most effective weapon in the game, but the point is I just need a breath of fresh air from stockand air strike+base jumper loadouts.

The guy doesn't know how the weapon work.
The Cow Mangler has the same stats of the Stock, besides the ammo, charge shot, building damage, and crits.
Was the guy an Engie whose buildings you stunned? If not, he has no reason to complain about a launcher with no random crits.

i think he mightve been talking about the range of the charge shot

Its noob mechanics can one shot all light classes
No random crits is like a huge downside, for most noobs it's like 100% damage penalty
And they just spam right click to instant kill people

I don't remember exactly what class he was playing, but I think he was an engie on offense for quite a while when I was using it. I'm trying to make a good defensive soldier loadout that has something new about it.

The charge shot is UP though.
I don't see a reason to complain about an obvious projectile that makes the Soldier vulnerable and waste his entire clip.
