The Original = Tryhard?

I heard some dude in a TF2 video call the cameraman (a Soldier using the Quake Rocket Launcher) a tryhard.
Does this thing really have that poor of a reputation or was he just salty?

just salty lol, you'd have to be really childish to call someone a "tryhard" over using a stock reskin

That placement makes everything easier. I'd consider the pre-patch iron bomber of soldier's weapons

Tryhard, like so many other terms these days, seems to have taken on an arbitrary definition, ergo its usage might as well be outright dismissed.

Honestly, I've seen "tryhard" used as both a positive and negative term, with folks treating it as either a term of endearment one might reserve for a real go-getter or as a term of greatest scorn seemingly reserved for the most intolerable of Stop-Having-Fun-Guys, so it's impossible to tell whether it was intended as a compliment or an insult.

Regardless, the Original is functionally nothing more than a reskin of the stock Rocket Launcher, so regardless of how it was intended to be taken, it's irrelevant.

Since you brought it up, there really should be a "Sniper!" callout just like there is for Spy. They can even just reuse the MvM lines out of sheer laziness if they wanted.

It's just a weapon stereotype. There are a number of soldiers that use the original that have no chill. But if you're actually fighting and trying to win, calling someone sweaty or tryhard is just full projection and a cope that you lost.

It makes right-side corner peeking notably harder, you can practically flick and the rocket will almost shoot Through the corner's pixels itself with the right timing using stock, not so much with the original, you expose yourself far more, and precise jumps are different, same mechanics but different flick. I don't see one as particularly worse.
The things that are different between them can be noticeable though.

Whatever could you mean? Everything feels much more natural using the Original.

The only benefit the original has compared to stock is having rockets fire from the center, which is a stretch to call a benefit in my opinion. Otherwise it's just stock

centered viewmodels only has some situational advantages as well as disadvantages

idk how anyone would complain about it
