I am a bit late here, but what exactly am I supposed to do in the vgui folder? Removing the stuff in console only removes the blue screen at the very start, but I want to have the original background in the main menu, and when a map is loading. Is that possible?

a little later, but go to tf/custom/budhud/#custumization/bh_menu_defaultbackground, open it and copy the script from "chapterbackgrounds", go to tf/custom/budhud/_budhud/Scripts, open "chapterbackgrounds", delete what's in it and paste what you copied. if everything is ok the game's default wallpapers will be back
