Hitsound & Killsound Problem(s)
Hi.

As of recent I tried to change my hit- and killsound (I used b4nny's hitsound, I wanted to change it to the ones from Quake Champions), but the volume turned out to be too low. I tried tweaking some settings, but things only got worse. Now all I can hear is just a solid bass tremble when I hit something, and not a funny nor pleasant one.

Could someone please tell me:
1. The default settings of everything that has to do with hit- and killsounds, and maybe tell me what some of the more intricate ones do (such as tf_dingaling_pitch_override).
2. Tell me how I can fix my hit- and killsounds not being loud enough.
3. Maybe give me some advice on how to make hit- and killsounds yourself, without issues such as TF2 not being able to properly play the sound, the volume of the sound being too low, etc... (aka common mistakes or errors).

Extra info:
I made sure the files were properly named (hitsound / killsound) and were the right file (.wav).
I put the files in E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\modifications\sound\ui
The files were 44100 Hz and 16 bit.
I used both Audacity and Vegas to edit the files where necessary.

If anything is still unclear for those kind enough to help me in this (as of right now, incredibly frustrating and rage-inducing) situation, you are free to ask and I'll respond asap.

Helping me with just one of these things is of course appreciated as well. :)

Please, help a guy who wants to hear a stale meme everytime he hits or kills someone in a videogame out!

Well at least my old hitsound is now fixed, it sounds the way it should. Thanks. :)

Now to find a way to make it work for the sounds I wanna use. XD

Have you set the hitsound to Default in advanced options?

Yes, I have. One mod required me to change to the retro effect though, because the mod replaced the files of said hitsound. But for every other sound I set it to default.

Try another hitsound, if that doesnt work then either you have 2 broken hitsounds or you have done something wrong. If it works, then you know your new hitsound is broken.

I'll give that a try tomorrow. How would the sound be broken though? If I just play it, it sounds fine...

Idk...
