my ignorant self has taken for granted that geneva convention forbids incendiary weapons as the main way to kill unless necessary at best, and outright forbids them completely at worst. meanwhile we have the pyromaniac being kinda worthless, yet using flames near 24/7.

For the mercs, it's more like a geneva checklist, Though I would assume medic and pyro being at the top of the list for obvious reasons, with the whole experimenting and using homemade flamethrowers.

IIRC aren't home made weapons against the geneva convention? If so quite a bit of their arms would push their violations up.
