Any of you tested TF2C Knockout Custom Weapons?

Honestly I tested the server yesterday and my hopes for a fun custom weapon server decreased by a tenfold

The weapons, most of them are so trashly designed, like I do understand that some of those are memes, so those aren't taken into account, but the weapons that try to be "serious" are just so badly designed man

When I joined I expected seeing chat with people saying stuff like "yay this is so fun!" "finally the community is doing what VALVe doesn't" or stuff like that, but everyone just went "♥♥♥♥ man X is so unfun", "X ruins the flow of the game" and "who the ♥♥♥♥ balanced this?"

I found out that the entire project of the server is run by 1 dev, and I will defenitely aknowledge his work. The dev perfectly understood how to use the tools at his disposal and made an actual good server network to create, edit and upload weapons as he pleases and hell he even made code of some of the weapons itself, and that's a bravo in my book

I'm just really sad of what the dev thought it was "OK" to upload

I will leave the most infamous examples:

- Literally nuclear bomb for the soldier
- A spy vest that made spy gain x3 his max health (65% damage resistance) (It was now dropped to 45% but that's still practically x2 his max health), 25% movement speed bonus (now dropped to 10%) and HP regen, that doesn't allow him to use his cloak (Keep this in mind)
- An engi vest that gives him +25 max HP, 25% movement speed
- A sniper rifle that does 400% damage on headshot (quickscope oriented sniper)
- A spy revolver that gave him +25 max HP and a faster firing speed, at the cost of watches being more trash (Use this in combination of the vest to nullify the downside and become a cancerous gunspy)
- A heavy minigun that it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fence. When deployed it gives you 95% damage resistance, You practically had x20 effective HP when deployed
- A scout melee that made you even faster than the BFB when active

Yeah... honestly I don't see why people want to use this trash after watching them on a youtube video, is it that they want the so famous "cheap fun" (AKA Effortless fun that will quickly turn into something unfun)?

We don't know. One day, Valve got with the creators of TF2C and Open Fortress, the download links for both got shut down, and we've had no news since.

he is correct though. Valve has promised some way for the mod to come back but seemingly hasnt gone through with it.
also nobody knows when s&box is coming out

Most players didn't have fun because there were players that abused the engi vest, the gunspy OP weapon combo and the fence

Probs because the community genuinely cant be trusted. How many money laundering schemes came from big trading sites? How many blatant lies from Youtubers? How many groomers and pedos from community servers and Discords? Suicides through harassment from competitive leagues? Remember, the community made the Invasion Update, and were so bad at managing it, it had to get delayed a week, during the week with zero announcement. Community doesnt deserve ♥♥♥♥.

I dont think thats the case. For starters mods are not official, valve wont be associated with any of it. Plus if Valve was so worried about it, why even offer to help in the first place? Why not just shut it down (and no it wasnt a pr play, valve have shut down things before and the tf2c playerbase was tiny).
I think its more likely that the arrangement was quietly cancelled due to other projects

Seems rather odd considering the servers are always well populated. But hey, if you want weapons to be changed, you can always go to their platforms and ask the creator, they really aren't against nerfing OP stuff and they are quick to do it. But instead you went to complain on a platform they don't visit.

This honestly comes across as you telling the people who play on the server to stop having fun.

just gonna say it, makin custom tf2c weapons isnt really that hard, most of that is copy/paste into 1 txt file, like tf2, tf2c uses attributes, something that makes weapons work, its not that hard to make weapons so... the summary by RandomGamePlayer isnt really right, i wouldnt call that coding, and everyone could get good at makin custom weapons if they know how to ctrl+c and ctrl+v from the attiribute listing, and know something about source engine modding
