Team Fortress 2
Putting together a list of known bot accounts and names
Pretty much what it says on the title. Please add ones you have seen, aside from OMEGATRONIC, m4gic, braaaap (number), default bot, and www.myg0twin.com since I already have those. I'll be putting them on Wattpad as a list to help put it all together somewhere and keep it accessible.

Thanks for your time!

don't, just don't give them the attention

There's a difference in this and just giving them attention. This is so both new players and old ones have an updated resource with identifying bots. I've been seeing more and more recently, so I wanted to actually do something about it. I don't expect this to completely stop the bot problem. It's just a resource on known ones so people can get them banned from matches faster.

Not all attention is good attention, and just ignoring them doesn't help the players when the bots eventually kick you from a match.

I know your not trying to give them attention, but they are going to see this and be encouraged to keep going and might even make even more just to get them onto the list.

Ignoring them and not talking about them is the best thing to do because at the end of the day they are just trolls and you don't feed the trolls. If you made a list of forum trolls for example it would do nothing but embolden them.

Really, people would just do this anyway. The other alternative is posting common traits of bots (Such as being typically snipers and heavies, lack of profile picture and information on steam account, copying names of other players, joining in groups with other bots, spamming chat with links, etc.) and suggest stuff like custom keybinds to keep you from being kicked (Something like "My profile picture is x and otherwise is a bot impersonating me" which I personally use due to the ones that steal names).

Either that, or personally report every single account, but there is way too many for one person to do by themselves. And I mean report the Steam account for cheating, not just the kick from the match. I understand your point, I really do, but ignoring them doesn't actually do the community any good in the long run. I want to see this game be playable in the future and not completely infested, you know?

yet another "bot list" thread
Kind of pointless. There are already massive community driven lists with all the current bots, along with thousands of previous run bots. Some of the lists contain the profile name, steam ID, creation date, and aliases. Just use one of those instead of compiling a new one.

Outside of Omegatronic, DoesHotter, etc, most bots change their names every few months. Like the default bots were pedobots in January. Having the name is useless. You need the steam ID number.

If you're do something like, even though it's already been done to death, make a guide so it doesn't get buried after like 5 hours
Also, reporting bots for cheating will likely not do anything. One of the core features of the software used to host bots is to report every single player each bot encounters as a cheater. So more than 95% of the reports Valve receives are likely false reports. Thousands of them a day. And lets be honest with ourselves, Valve is never going to dedicate the amount of time, cost, and man power to sift through those for a 15 year old game.

Make since to change the mybot bot since the link can lead people to get hijacked/hacked

Thanks for the tips. I'm taking from all sorts of lists and compiling my own to add new ones. I'm changing the platform it will be on to make it easier to sift through and to credit other lists that I will be checking through. I'm also trying to include information on the creators if any is known, since I really had no idea the Omegatronic creator was selling bot immunity and being massively scummy to go that far. (Also have some other vague ideas on what to add but I can't say too much and risk people knowing entirely what I am doing yet.) I'm hoping to keep mine updated even as I go through college soon, or ask for volunteers to help keep it going.

I've been hyperfocused on this for the past five-ish hours and grabbing things I need along with trying to find new ones in matches.
