Nerf the Crossbow or Buff the Syringe Guns?
I want to hear your opinion about nerfing the crossbow, buffing the syringes or doing both with these weapons, how would you do it and what stats would you change.

little bitta both

healing and damage should be toned down on crossbow but syringe guns should be more convenient to use, so people have a choice between long ranged healing and reliable self defense since as of right now crossbow does both

buff syringes a little
buff the syringes to have an alt fire with a heavier healing needle that heals a flat 50 and consumes a chunk of the gun's ammo (id say start at like. half and adjust from there) it will make the Crossbow the go to for long range (heavier bolt from syringes would make it very clunky and awkward at range) or super burst healing, but also allow people to get a less effective burst heal with ok range out of the needles

Both, but nerf harder than the buff

Nerfing crossbow just makes the game simpler/dumber by nerfing medic play potential.

Why not just buff the syringe gun

then it's balanced

Crossbow: make healing affected by how long ago the teammate was last damaged
Syringes: remove random spread

buff the syringe, nerf clip size to 20 and buff damage, same firing speed

there is no conceivable situation where a damage focused primary gets used more effectively than a healing focused primary on a class with a sole focus on healing
buffs on their own do nothing to change the current situation, and you can very well argue the current situation is a desirable one
the crossbow makes medic more mechanically interesting while syringes are antiquated trash on a fundamental level
the problem with the crossbow is that it does burst heals too good in a way that shuts down plays that should be securing kills, not that it's better than syringes

Both

Remove passive reload from crossbow

Make syringes be 50% more accurate, 75-100% faster and reduce the max falloff to only 8 damage

Also add lag compensation on syringes

Lastly, rework syringe unlocks (because they would be really broken if they weren't rebalanced after these buffs)

I agree
Buff > nerf
Nerfs make the game worse (as you can see with spy I think). You can never go wrong with buffs.

Wrong

Both are needed to achieve balance and fun

You can make things balanced by buffing the weak and not nerfing the strong. I am only for nerfing when the subject is overpowered (let's not start that debate). And what I mean by Nerfs making the game worse is that everything will eventually become weak and bad, especially with how Valve handles nerfs. Buffing never gets unfun (see x10 and over) but it can become unnecessary. The only time I can see buffing go wrong is if there is one weapon buffed so greatly that everything else is ♥♥♥♥ in comparison. This is just hypothetical and focusing on the extremes, but my point stands. Would you rather play a game where attacks are so ineffective that it's actual pain to play properly and forces the game to become a friendly simulator or a game where every attack is so strong that you are basically just playing a class-based team first person shooter version of hotline miami?
